We are currently recruiting for a Sous Chef to join our team at one of our conference venues in Cambridge CB3 9A.

This is a permanent position working 5 out of 7 days, 40 hours a week. Shifts of either 7:30am to 3:30pm or 12pm to 8pm.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to support the delivery of high-quality food service for up to 300 guests daily. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will help manage the day-to-day operations of a busy conference centre, ensuring smooth service, food safety, and excellent standards.

The food offering includes daily café-style options, a fresh salad bar, a tempting dessert selection, and fine dining events, all prepared from scratch with fresh, seasonal ingredients. With autonomy over menu development, you will have the opportunity to showcase creativity while delivering innovative dishes. This is an exciting role for a talented and ambitious chef who thrives in a high-volume environment and is passionate about crafting exceptional dining experiences

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Be responsible for the daily operation of the kitchen and the preparation and cooking of all types of dishes.
  • Be responsible, dedicated and a strong leader with the ability to manage a brigade of talented chefs.
  • Be able to train and develop your team supportively and professionally.
  • Deliver consistent food standards following the Wilson Vale brand standards.
  • Deliver fresh, seasonal and innovative food from around the world.
  • Be able to interact and engage with people while the food is being served.
