You will undertake business critical work comms and engagement work associated with Carriers, Brokers and Dealers (CBD) regime. This role will contribute to a ground breaking Regulatory Reform project for CBD. The role will help deliver ‘once in a generation’ changes to how we regulate and enforce the movement of waste. The CBD Regime will become an effective regulatory tool, increasing the responsibilities and requirements placed on all CBD. Following reform, you will help to ensure a smooth transition to new ways of working for the regime.

The team
This post sits within Waste Controllers and Tracking (WCAT) team, within Waste Industry Regulatory Services (WIRS), in National Operations. The team is dispersed working across the country. We are a high performing team that delivers priority technical work, supporting waste regimes, providing leadership to national projects.
The Carrier Brokers Dealers (CBD) regime is managed through E&B Waste Regulation and WIRS. Together we lead the business on CBD work, supporting Government, industry and colleagues.
Experience/skills Required
Knowledge of waste compliance, environmental regulation of the waste industry and our enforcement processes.
You will be effective at influencing and communicating and will have a strong customer focus. An ability to deliver results through others is crucial.
Technical leadership and delivery are essential along with:
Office base is flexible. You will need to be comfortable with working in a dispersed team. The role will require travel to London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Bristol and other locations.

- Respond to technical queries relating to CBD, to support the work of regulatory officers and NCCC staff.
- Analyse data to better inform how we manage the regime.
- Contribute to the review and adaptation of operating procedures related to CBD, to ensure the most effective outcomes and legislation compliance.
