What You'll Do
- Provide technical support to sales, this includes torque calculation sign off, technical reviews, specification reviews and product ordering support.
- Lead technical reviews on project designs
- Take ownership of specialist and bespoke design projects.
- Implement R&D design and testing for the expansion and proving of the product range & new designs.
- Research into new technologies and processes
- Ensure engineering compliance is maintained.
- Willingness and ability to develop and utilize new skills and knowledge in all areas of the business
- Complete failure analysis investigations and produce reports.
- Support valve sizing and selection projects and activities.
- Interpretation of an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and effective presentation of information to a varied audience.
- Selection of suitable materials for various applications.
Essential
What you'll need:
- Degree in Engineering or Higher National Certificates/Diplomas or equivalent from college; with a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Proficiency with CAD packages such as Solid Edge, Solid Works or AutoCAD.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Knowledge of industry design and compliance standards, including ASME B16:34, API 6A, ISA 70.01.01, ISO 60534, Pressure Equipment Directive.
- Knowledge of control valve & instrumentation design, selection and application
- Carry out FEA and manual strength calculations where required.
