A Day in the Life

Medtronic Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) is helping hospitals, public and private payers and health systems to align value within the care continuum by delivering more efficient and improved care to patients through process excellence, managed services and care pathways management. Our IHS team consists of seasoned professionals with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare value chain, as well as breadth of experience across multiple disciplines.

As a Senior Consultant Integrated Health Solutions, you will connect with client hospitals, understand and analyze their most pressing business challenges and deliver high value services that improve their quality, productivity, and patient and staff experience. This role is focused on working in the UK (across multiple hospital clients) with a willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). There is the potential to alternate between onsite and remote work depending on consultancy engagements.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Deliver well scoped operational excellence and pathway optimization projects across key strategic customer accounts and interface with clinical and operational teams, C-suite and senior management and understand and find solutions to their most significant clinical and operational problems
• Support the development of whole health system disease state pathways and assess the economic impact of pathway changes
• Support the development and deployment of remote patient management and engagement digital solutions
• Undertake flow analysis of clinical pathways to identify rate limiting steps, develop solutions and model impact on the patient pathway
• Support the assessment and benchmarking of hospital performance, collect and analyse data, interview hospital stakeholders and co-lead workshops
• Identify, frame and prioritize initiatives to capture value, and develop actionable plans / project portfolios and roadmaps for immediate and long term improvement, including improved clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction and cost savings (e.g. patient pathway improvement, operating room efficiency, same day-discharge development, digital solutions, etc)
• Capture and analysis of outcome measures (e.g. PREMs (Patient-Reported Experience Measures) and PROMs (Patient-Reported Outcome Measures), Disability-Adjusted Life Year (DALYs) and Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALYs) and financial measures)
  
  
  

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in analytical or biomedical discipline at Class 2:1 or above
• Demonstrable experience over 5 years in healthcare consulting focusing on clinical pathway reorganization, business case development and health analytics
• Demonstrated ability to operate from idea generation, strategy development through detailed implementation and results delivery
• Demonstrable project experience of clinical pathway optimization and redesign
• Strong analytical skills including advanced analysis of patient data and capacity modelling
• Healthcare Industry / Hospital knowledge or experience is an essential requirement
• Knowledge of digital health solutions and Lean Six Sigma certification is desirable
