Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

The Role

As a Scientific Senior Program Manager, you will have full responsibility and accountability for all operational aspects in leading a cross-functional project team to deliver on all scope objectives with the highest level of quality. You will be the single point of contact to the customer whilst being the customer's advocate within the Lonza network with the goal of achieving total customer satisfaction. This person will be required to manage a number of projects at any one time with a quick turnaround. This is a fast-paced environment that offers great opportunities.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an established Project Manager / Program Manager to join the team and take on some interesting projects!

  • Direct and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring all team members remain accountable for delivering outstanding results.
  • Conduct internal and external project team meetings to ensure all collaborators and customers follow the agreed Project Plan.
  • Secure necessary resources and capacity commitments, acquiring agreement from all relevant team members.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for all operational aspects of the program.
  • Understand customer needs and commit to project scope and timelines, ensuring agreement from both the project team and the customer.
  • Represent the customer project within the Lonza Network, acting as the customer’s advocate on-site.
  • Collaborate with Sales to ensure customer happiness throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Demonstrated project management experience within the Pharmaceutical, Biologics, Medical Devices, or similar industries.
  • A scientific or engineering degree is essential.
  • Desired understanding of Pharmaceutical Industry-related Biotech processing.
  • PMP or Prince 2 certification is desirable.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks with various customers.
  • Preferred understanding of the early development of biologics.

Every day, Lonza’s products and services have a positive impact on millions of people. For us, this is not only a great privilege, but also a great responsibility. How we achieve our business results is just as important as the achievements themselves. At Lonza, we respect and protect our people and our environment.

Any success we achieve is no success at all if not achieved ethically.

People come to Lonza for the challenge and creativity of solving complex problems and developing new ideas in life sciences. In return, we offer the satisfaction that comes with improving lives all around the world. The satisfaction that comes with making a meaningful difference.
