Senior Payroll Officer

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

£30,273 - £31,867 per year

35 hours per week

We have an opportunity for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team, based in Worcester. The main purpose of this role is to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, managing payroll processes, handling payments and deductions and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations are met.

The role of Senior Payroll Officer will include:

  • Ownership of payment runs ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to payroll and financial controls in order to ensure regulatory and statutory requirements are met
  • Provide support to deliver consistently high quality and timely management information for customers and stakeholders
  • Prepare and review Real Time Information (RTI) submissions ensuring HMRC deadlines are met for submissions and payments
  • Support the development and maintenance of effective working relationships, ensuring issues and shortfalls are addressed and remedied
  • Follow correct processes, governance and compliance to ensure controls are in place
  • End to end payroll running
  • Gross to Net delivery

Skills and experiences:

  • Proven record of delivering end to end payroll and Gross to Net delivery
  • Proven experience of Payroll calculations
  • Understanding of compliance and payroll regulations
  • Proven experience analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams

  • Role salary is £27,521 with an additional policy allowance of £2,752 per annum (rising to £28,970 with an additional policy allowance of £2,897 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
