Laing O'Rourke are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the Expanded team at the Ellison Institute of Technology, in Oxford.
We are open to NEBOSH qualified individuals with a background in Civil Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental, Sustainability or Quality.
The Expanded Group provides total capability in the early construction phases of major projects, providing an end-to-end solution or a bespoke choice of services. Backed by a central technical design and engineering resource, we can deliver the full range of piling, precast concrete, post-tensioning, and structures techniques.
The Project
Ellison Institute of Technology will continue the Institute's work in cancer research, disease prevention, and global health policy, along with providing educational programming for students from around the globe. A newly constructed building in The Oxford Science Park will be home to further research laboratories and educational spaces, laid out to promote collaboration and flexibility. This includes a roof-top wooden geodesic dome overlooking the surrounding tree canopy.
The two buildings will be connected by an elevated tree covered walkway to enhance access and promote collaboration between both sites.

- Site inspections (daily/ weekly)
- Inductions
- Training (matrix and scheduling)
- RAM's reviewing
- RAM's register
- Impact updating Monthly data
- Impact assurance – PVA – CI – FSR management – ensuring engagement.
- Team Safety meetings
- Permits
- PUWER
- LOLER
- Noise, Vibration & Dust – management
- Occupation Health
- HAVS
- Scaffold register – ensure it is been done correctly
- Hole protection – inspection / correct application.
- Producing weekly reports
- Working with site team and carrying out reviews with the work force to improve working conditions
- Logistics
- NEBOSH.
