Join our dynamic Offshore Team as a Senior Geomatics Analyst on a permanent basis. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead data processing activities for cutting-edge hydrographic survey and inspection projects, ensuring top-tier quality control and assurance. Collaborate with a dedicated team, oversee the production of critical survey data products, and make impactful decisions in the field. Main Responsibilities
Due to the nature of what we do and how we do it, every day is likely to be a little different but we the ideal candidate to be responsible for the following:
- Lead offshore data processing activities for Beam’s hydrographic survey and inspection projects.
- Ensure quality control and assurance of acquired data.
- Provide effective leadership within the offshore data processing team.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Process survey data from various platforms (vessel/USV/ASV/AUV/ROV).
- Oversee the production of survey data products for GIS/SSDM, charts, and reports.
- Collaborate closely with the entire offshore team.
- Supervise and provide training to team members as needed.
- Make decisions in the field and communicate with onboard client representatives.
- Provide effective communication and feedback to the Online Survey Department
- Work within an agile cross-functional team on projects to deliver data processing technology improvements.
You should apply if you have:
Essential:
- A degree in Survey/hydrographic/ocean science/data related degree, or a minimum of five years related experience.
- Proven offshore experience with 2 years in a similar or equivalent role.
- Experience in offshore survey projects in a senior position.
- Experience of Hydrographic/Geophysical survey data planning, acquisition, processing and delivering.
- Experience in data management.
- Experience in managing and training Data Processors.
- Experience with creating charts in CAD or GIS.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- The ability to work well within a team.
- Capacity to adjust to new conditions and challenges, showing flexibility and openness to change.
- The capacity to identify issues, analyse possible solutions, and implement effective resolutions.
- A strong emphasis on time management and delivering to a deadline.
Desirable:
- Seabed Survey Data Model (SSDM) framework and GIS skills.
- FME, SQL or other technologies for creating data pipelines, or automation of data workflows.
- Presentation of geospatial information and analysis for reporting.
- Knowledge of QGIS.
- Exposure to working with Python or other programming languages.
- Potential for career progression to offshore Offline Coordinator or onshore Senior Project Data Processor.
- Opportunity to cross train between our GIS & Photogrammetry teams.
