What to Expect

This role will business partner the Motorsport function, with ownership of the financials for this key area. Whilst supporting the operational teams to achieve their targets, the main responsibilities include month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control. Driving commercial decision making through performance analysis, whilst implementing and improving financial processes and controls.


What You'll Do

  • Business partnering the operational teams. Building relationships cross-functionally and acting as the first point of contact for all financial matters
  • Delivering timely and accurate financial information to stakeholders with commentary that demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of revenue performance, cost drivers and variance analysis
  • Completion of month-end processes (P&L & Balance Sheet)
  • Leading monthly finance reviews with key stakeholders & budget owners
  • Preparing annual budget and monthly reforecast submissions
  • Oversight and reporting on Inventory levels, including monitoring obsolescence risk
  • Maintenance of BoM pricing updates and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Supporting business cases for investments and product development and then tracking performance
  • Ensure budgetary & cash control processes are in place and followed, challenging spend where necessary
  • Identify and implement process, reporting and analysis improvements in all areas of role
  • Maintain and communicate accurate balance sheet reconciliations ready for regular external audit


What You'll Bring

Business Knowledge:

  • This role requires a deep understanding of the processes within Motorsport and the wider McLaren business to be able to support with financial insights and solutions to subject matter experts


Essential Functional / Technical Skills:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Advanced Excel skills required to interrogate and manage large volumes of complex data
  • Experience of accounting systems, preference for SAP experience

  • Ability to work with and influence colleagues at all levels of the organisation
  • Passion for the automotive industry
  • Persistence and drive to get the job done
