Lydgate Junior and Infant School is a multi-ethnic school that lies at the heart of a supportive and diverse community in Soothill, Batley.

Following the imminent retirement of our well established and a highly effective learning mentor, we wish to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic learning mentor to be a part of our committed team and support our pupils’ learning. The ideal candidate will have proven experience of working in this role.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

  • Is self-motivated, dynamic and proactive
  • Has excellent communication skills including with parents
  • Has high expectations of behaviour
  • Is able to lead on lunchtime provision
  • Is knowledgeable about barriers to learning and how to address them
  • Is able to create bespoke solutions for the children
  • Can build positive relationships with children and staff
  • Is able to work well as part of a team.

The ability to relate to children/young people from diverse backgrounds is essential for this job, as well as having good verbal and written communication skills in order to liaise with children, parents and staff.
