Senior Data Scientist (12 months Fixed Term Contract)

TheSenior Data Scientistis responsibleforspearheadinginnovation,developmentand application ofAIsolutions thatgeneratemarketinsightsandhigh-qualitysalesleads, enhancing customer engagement and directly driving sales.

This position reports to theAISales IntegrationManagerand is part of theData Science and AI TeamlocatedinCambridge, UK,and will beon-site.AtAbcam, our vision isto be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.

This role will initially be a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Apply AI to solve real-world challenges,generate insights,salesleads andoptimizesales strategyand actions.
• Innovate, develop, test, and embed scalable AI models, rapidly apply existing AI methodologies,validateperformance, andutilizestatistical techniques for result interpretation and validation.
• Analyze data from various sources using best-practice coding standards anda state-of-the-artAI Technology Stack.
• Produce actionable insights and compelling visualizations, define data requirements, while identifying and mitigating risks and governing AI applications.
• Collaborate across teams to drive AI innovation, while expanding yourexpertisewithin an experienced, inclusive, and international team.
  
  
  

The essential requirements of the job include:

• BSc or MSc in DataScience or a related field.
• Multipleyears of industry experiencein data science.
• Proficiencyin Python and related ML libraries.
• Understanding of LLMs and experience in how to realize their full potential in frameworks such as OpenAI.
• Proven experience in developing,deployingand applying AI modelsas part of a CI/CD pipeline, and deploying applications using cloud technologies.
  
  
  

It would be a plus if you alsopossesspreviousexperience in:

• Commercial awareness and understanding of Sales and Marketing strategies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
