About this opportunity

We're on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we're shaping finance for good. We're focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

We're looking for a Senior Business Partner to drive our Groupwide transformation by supporting our Group Executive Functions - Finance, Audit & Conduct Investigations, Legal, Risk, Corporate Affairs & Sustainable Business - helping to find, and tell, some of the best stories in Lloyds Banking Group and drive important initiatives forward!

You'll set out and guide our internal and external communications activity, helping to amplify compelling customer and colleague stories and providing critical reputational counsel to business areas that play a pivotal role in driving the insights, data and ways of working that underpin the success of the Group's strategic and cultural transformation.

Reporting into the Head of Group Functions Business Partnering, you'll set out and guide our communications activity. You'll collaborate with communications and creative experts across GCA to help amplify compelling stories and provide critical reputational counsel to Group Executive Functions, working with the media and social media teams on amplifying our transformation in the right way to core audiences.

Day to day you'll be;

  • Playing a leading role in defining and delivering the integrated communications strategies that support the needs and ambitions of the Group Executive Functions.
  • Working closely and collaboratively with teams across GCA and with subject matter experts across the Group, providing informed, professional and strategic counsel to GEC Leaders on issues that affect reputation. You'll anticipate complex issues, challenges and opportunities and support the overall communications strategies.
  • Championing the communications needs and opportunities facing the Business; exploring impactful and innovative ways to share the stories that showcase the crucial role they play in the transformation of the Group.
  • Working with our internal channels teams, often leading matrix teams or squads, to oversee the end to end delivery of creative and engaging content on the function-wide channels. This should be delivered accurately and on time, taking an agile approach to respond to changing business and industry context.
  • Leading the relationships with the in-business communicators, putting our audiences first and constantly challenging and collaborating to maximise impact and minimise volume of communications for our audiences.
  • Working in partnership with our external communications specialists (media, social and public affairs) to identify, prioritise and deliver the impactful communications that promote the Group brand and reputation for external partners including media, politicians, colleagues and future employees.

About us

Like the modern Britain we serve, we're evolving. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to transform the way we meet the ever-changing needs of our 26 million customers. We're growing with purpose. Join us on our journey and you will too…

What you'll need

  • Bring energy, commitment to and passion for leading change and creating the conditions for growth.
  • Previous experience in a multi-disciplinary communications role is essential.
  • Strong partnering skills, able to quickly build relationships with GEC level leaders and their teams whilst developing an extensive internal network of subject matter experts.
  • A creative problem solver, with an in-depth understanding of the internal and external communications landscape, challenges and opportunities and a high level of commercial and risk awareness.
  • Proactive ownership of individual and team performance. Taking accountability for collective success. Taking pride in being part of being the change we want to see in the organisation

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • A growth mindset that can quantify the opportunities across the backdrop of a matrix organisation and embrace the opportunity to work with expert teams within GCA, in-business communicators and external partners to deliver impactful communications.
  • Excellent appreciation of the full breadth of our internal and external audiences.
  • Able to understand the benefits of being able to segment and target our audiences with timely, relevant and impactful communications across a range of channels.
  • Effective at prioritising multiple demands and working within tight timescales.
  • Able to think differently and challenge established ways of working to increase pace, innovation and effectiveness of communications.
