This is a shift based role including days & nights
This is an exciting opportunity, open to all B2 licenced technicians, with at least 1 type rating, currently on their licence. If you have the experience and character that we are looking for, AirTanker will provide you with an A330 Type course
The performance of Aircraft Maintenance tasks, in accordance with company quality and regulatory airworthiness standards and working in conjunction with the Shift Manager to ensure that the operational service meets all of the customer’s contractual requirements.
Being an SR is not the same as being in the RAF Reserves, which involves weekday and weekend training, and deploying as a unit to support regular Armed Forces. As an SR you will be deployed in support of Voyager. When not required for military tasks, you will return to your civilian role with AirTanker.
To qualify for SR status you must be British, Irish, part of the Commonwealth or hold a dual British citizenship, be medically and dentally fit, and maintain the required fitness level.
Along with your basic salary, additional benefits of an SR role include
- Shift pay £7875
- Call out Gratuity - £696.28 (paid quarterly)
- SR Bounty - £3,479.11 (paid at attestation and then 6 monthly thereafter)
- Duty Pay £3.47 per hour
Potential Earnings £101,469 (based on 90 days away)
Performance of Aircraft Maintenance tasks in accordance with Company Quality and Regulatory airworthiness standards. Working in conjunction with the Shift Manager, ensure that the task meets all the customer’s contractual requirements. The supervision of engineering activities as directed by the Shift Manager at the MOB or any deployed location. The supervision and effective use of all allocated personnel and resources. Deputise for the Shift Manager in his absence.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake scheduled and un-scheduled Aircraft Maintenance in accordance with the required regulatory and company requirements
- Undertake supervisory activities for teams of Aircraft Maintenance staff including all trade disciplines as directed by the Shift Manager. Deputising for the Shift Manager as required
- Assisting the Shift Manager in monitoring the performance of staff under his control including, attendance, timekeeping, sickness etc.
- Responsible to the Shift Manager for the receipt/dispatch and servicing of Voyager Aircraft. To include pre-flight checks; daily checks; weekly checks; scheduled maintenance; component changes; rectification and repair; mandatory inspection; role changes and aircraft re-fuelling within the scope of the technician’s company approval and in accordance with company procedures, in a safe and efficient manner
- Certify all servicing and maintenance tasks in accordance with their scope of approval and under the authority of the Company Quality Manager
- Flying Spanner duties to support the flying program and outstation duties as required
- Drive and/or operate all essential Company provided MTGSE in support of operational requirements in line with their approvals
- To check manage scheduled Maintenance inputs as directed by the Shift manager in conjunction with the production planner

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Minimum of ten years experience on commercial / comparable military aircraft
- Experience on operational A330 aircraft
- Minimum of five years experience as a Certifying Technician
- EASA B1 and / or B2 Licence
- Hold / Held Airbus A330 Type Rating
- Full UK driving licence
- Must pass a CP2 Colour Vision Test
- Experience working in both a line/base maintenance environment
