Job Description

CONTEXT

Within Oracle Consulting, our pillar architects own the architectural design of Oracle pillar solutions for prospective and existing customers. The same individuals also work on the development of ‘go to market solutions’ for the market place. These are senior roles to act as the link between Oracle sales and delivery teams in the Oracle Consulting organisation.

The SCM Architect ensures solution architecture feasibility and mitigates risk by leveraging a network of subject matter experts in the various domains. The SCM Architect is also capable of proposing customer roadmaps to realise the proposed solution. We are currently seeking an experienced SCM Architect with a focus on functional SCM process architecture and solution architecture across all disciplines of the SCM function. Broader Oracle ERP application knowledge is desirable but not essential.

SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The SCM Architect is responsible for designing, developing and supporting business solutions leveraging the latest versions of Oracle SCM Cloud.

  • Works on client-billable and pre-sales assignments to lead the development of complex SCM solutions
  • Works with sales and delivery to ensure solutions are both sellable and deliverable to a profit. We are looking for architects capable of leading compelling solution development with clients on their SCM cloud strategies, architectures and roadmaps.


Responsibilities:

  • To act as a trusted advisor to senior clients:
  • To develop compelling, profitable and deliverable customer solutions with Oracle and customers
  • To be commercially astute when engaging and advising a client
  • To act as ambassadors for Oracle application solutions throughout a customer engagement
  • Work closely with client, sales, pre-sales and delivery staff to develop a robust architecture
  • Take full ownership of “best practice” of your competency area, covering the whole strategic SCM footprint
  • Develop strong relationships with the SCM product lines and in co-operation with the delivery management teams, advise on competency requirements
  • Take full accountability for the architectural solution of a pre-sales opportunity or project
  • Establish strong relationships with your counterparts in Oracle partners
  • Form and maintain strong relationships with colleagues in SCM product development
  • Manage the re-use and knowledge management of your competency area
  • Provide sales awareness to the sales and delivery community within the Oracle Consulting
  • Engage profitably with your counterparts from other parts of the EMEA region


Knowledge And Competency Requirements

  • 10 years of relevant industry experience and solid understanding of SCM business practices
  • Over 10 years of demonstrable experience with SCM solutions at a consultancy or customer including business process analysis, systems analysis and design, and technical/functional solutions delivery
  • Detailed functional knowledge of all the major business processes and associated functionality in the supply chain, manufacturing or procurement domain
  • A creative and agile problem-solver
  • Excellent facilitation skills, including experience planning and participating in architecture and design sessions. Have been through at least 4 complete implementation cycles
  • Experience with interacting with third party resources, including offshore teams
  • Proven leadership in managing, governing and providing oversight of internal teams, 3rd party integrators, consultants and vendors through various initiatives
  • Strong team building skills, with ability to build quick and effective work rapport with distributed team members
  • Can demonstrate a strong awareness of the differences between cloud and on-premise solutions and their benefits

Responsibilities

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. As a position of technical/professional influence, this individual frequently operates at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet very complex customer needs. Exercises creativity and independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver functional and technical expertise on a wide range of business and technology solutions. Leads experienced consulting teams on challenging projects; works on significant and unique issues. As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations. Enables business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise. Resolves very complex customer escalations. Drives customer process direction and decisions by providing domain leadership within relevant industries on end-to-end enterprise solutions. Creates new solution sets based on assessment of industry needs, market demands and knowledge of competitive product offerings.
