We are currently recruiting for a Scientist III to join the Product Feasibility Team within Process Development. The purpose of this role is to execute and report laboratory-based experiments and analytical investigations to support early client product development programs. This role is fixed-term contract for maternity cover.
OXB’s Product Feasibility Team consists of experienced scientists that have extensive expertise in lentiviral vector production and analytical assessments. The team are committed to providing high quality data to support progression and optimisation of client products at OXB.

OXB collaborates with some of the world’s most innovative pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, providing viral vector development and manufacturing expertise in lentivirus, adeno-associated virus (AAV) and adenoviral vectors. OXB’s world-class capabilities span from early-stage development to commercialisation. These capabilities are supported by robust quality-assurance systems, analytical methods, and depth of regulatory expertise.

Your responsibilities in this role would be:
- Assisting with and executing laboratory scale viral vector production experiments for new products and optimising production of existing viral vector products.
- Assessment of viral vectors and process parameters using a range of analytical techniques.
- Ensuring a high standard of record keeping and documentation of experiments and investigations.
- Preparation of high-quality content for internal review in both presentation and report format.
- Routine presentation of experimental data to the group and at times the wider department.
- Contributing to departmental ways of working and efficiencies, for example, assisting with laboratory operations and maintenance.
- Minimum BSc Degree programme level.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience in biological research and development or equivalent experience gained elsewhere.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Knowledge in Virology and gene therapy would be an advantage.
- Laboratory technical experience with particular emphasis in one or more of the following: Tissue Culture, Upstream bioreactor processes, qPCR and flow cytometry.
- Behavioural qualities encompassing an innovative and creative mindset, proactivity, strong collaborative and teamworking skills.
