Ladybird Communications is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to lead our telecommunications division. This pivotal role is primarily focused on driving new business, with responsibilities spanning across telecom operations, strategy, development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and local networking within Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining our competitive edge and achieving strategic objectives within the local business ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans for the telecoms division, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.
  • Provide visionary leadership to the telecoms team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance service delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Business Development:

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business growth opportunities within the telecom sector.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to expand Ladybird Communications' customer base, market share, and revenue streams.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners, negotiating and managing contracts to drive mutual success.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and services that meet partner expectations.
  • Manage customer relationships through the sales cycle, ensuring satisfaction and long-term engagement.
  • Track and manage business opportunities throughout the sales cycle to maximize conversion rates.

Local Networking and Community Engagement:

  • Represent Ladybird Communications in local business networks, industry associations, and community events in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
  • Build and nurture relationships with local businesses, government entities, and community leaders to support strategic partnerships.
  • Participate in relevant forums, conferences, and networking events to enhance the company's visibility and influence in the region.

Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the telecoms division, including network infrastructure, service provisioning, and technical support.
  • Optimize resource allocation and budget management to achieve financial objectives.

Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):

  • Identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities that align with Ladybird Communications' strategic goals.
  • Lead negotiations, due diligence, and integration efforts for telecom-related acquisitions.
  • Develop business cases, financial models, and risk assessments to support M&A decisions.

Team Management:

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of telecom professionals.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the division.
  • Set clear goals and performance expectations, providing regular feedback and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in a leadership role within the telecommunications industry, with a strong track record in driving business growth and local community engagement.
  • Demonstrated success in acquiring new customers and expanding market share.
  • Working knowledge of telecom technologies, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
