About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Operative to join our Jockey Club Estates Operations team based in Newmarket to deliver the day-to-day planned, reactive, and out of hours maintenance requirements of Jockey Club Estates residential property along with property owned by the Jockey Club Estates client base.

The Maintenance Operative will
- Assist with all areas of general maintenance as part of the reactive maintenance programme.
- Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in accordance with specifications.
- Assist with refurbishment of kitchens and bathrooms as appropriate with the needs of the refurbishment
- Operate small plant, equipment, and hand tools, complying with the appropriate health and
- Safety procedures and regulations to always ensure safe working practices.
- Proactively and efficiently respond to requests and defects when reported, ensuring timeframes and progress are regularly reported.
- Communicate with outside suppliers when organising plant and materials and arrange for the delivery and subsequent follow up paperwork, purchase orders, delivery notes etc.
- Provide an efficient and consistently high standard of service both to internal and external customers.
- Ensure well developed and embedded risk management with particular focus on health and safety, building safety, contract management and customer satisfaction.
- Carry out regulatory and statutory compliance associated with all services within the department including property maintenance and refurbishment
About you
- Proven track record in general facilities maintenance or similar operational roles.
- Familiarity with health and safety protocols in a workplace setting.
- Skilled in using tools and equipment relevant to maintenance tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills for on-the-spot fixes and urgent repairs.
- Ability to liaise effectively with external contractors and suppliers.
- Proactive approach to workplace taking initiative to delivering high quality work.
- Thrives as being part of a team collaborating effectively to achieve shared goals.
- Excellent communicator with commitment to delivering high quality work.
- Computer savvy with outstanding attention to detail.
- Passionate about developing existing skills and acquiring new ones.
- A valid driving licences.
