The opportunity
As a Safety Rules Instructor within the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA) you will prepare and deliver training in company Safety Rules, to candidates preparing for authorised roles under the Safety Rules, using both classroom and plant simulator environments, to facilitate the growth of the skills and knowledge in these areas for HPC.
You will join a team with a wide variety of skills, experience and knowledge, and work closely with the customer (HPC).
Your base location will be at our Hinkley Point C, with a mix of office and home working.

What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you'll develop and deliver training materials across classroom and plant simulator environments, while also providing coaching and mentoring to support trainee development. You’ll coordinate and lead Safety Rules Authorisation(s) Training Programme courses, delivering sessions to groups of up to eight people. Training will reflect company values and embed safety and operational excellence throughout.
As a subject matter expert, you’ll demonstrate deep technical knowledge and act as the company’s lead representative in your area. You'll work with internal and external stakeholders, including National Grid and HPC teams, to ensure training remains current and aligned with requirements. You’ll also contribute to the Nuclear Skills Alliance’s business plans, supporting the achievement of broader organisational goals.
Who You Are
You hold an HNC or higher in a relevant technical subject and have experience in power generation or a related industry. You’re confident with Microsoft Office, a strong communicator, and bring solid knowledge of Safety Rule procedures. You work well in a team, solve problems effectively, and have strong mentoring skills.
It’s desirable that you have experience delivering technical or simulator training, knowledge of SAT, and a recognised training qualification. Familiarity with nuclear systems, stakeholder engagement, and modern learning methods is a bonus. Travel to other sites, including Hinkley Point C, may be required. If not already certified, training will be provided to become a Fleet Certified Instructor.
