Job Description

Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to develop your career further? We have a great opportunity to join our Bolton Vets for Pets team, offering an excellent salary of £28,000 to £32,000 depending on experience!

We have 2 opportunities available within the team working full or part time hours. We can support candidates looking for a minimum of 2 days per week or maximum of 5 days per week. It is an open and supportive place to work at, where we're constantly learning new things from each other. It is a fast paced environment and there is rarely a boring day. I fell very lucky to have started my career with Bolton Vets4Pets with such a great team and support system.” Zoe - Current Vet

About us:

Bolton is a family friendly city and has ranked as one of the happiest places to live in the Northwest. The town is in close proximity to both Manchester and Liverpool, under an hour from the Peak District, one hour from Leeds, under 2 hours from the Lake District and Snowdonia National Park in Wales. The cost of living is very attractive, especially for those keen to step on the property ladder, as residents enjoy a higher standard of living that would ordinarily cost much more in other parts of the UK. Those with school aged children can enjoy a good standard of education and access to some great Colleges and Universities in nearby cities.

You will be joining an existing team of 6 vets, 5 Nurses (including our brilliant students) and supportive non clinical team. One of our vets holds a certificate in exotics, so you’ll also get to see some more unusual cases from time to time!

About the role:

Our work-life balance values are displayed in numerous ways via our daily schedules. Lunch break guaranteed, with time specifically put in the diary for catching up, calls, and emergencies.

By joining us you will have the opportunity to use your nursing skills to their full potential, admitting patients, monitoring anaesthetics, recovering, and discharging patients. Assistance from ANAs and an SVN with turning around theatre, patient prep.

To apply you will have good general nursing experience and great customer service skills, be cheerful, down-to-earth and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in animal welfare.

What We Offer in Return:

We’re committed to supporting our team with a competitive salary ranging from £28,000 to £32,000, depending on experience. This role comes with no out-of-hours or overnight inpatient checks, allowing for a healthy work-life balance. We also offer a generous CPD allowance, including funded certificates, and paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVNA, VDS). Additional benefits include:

  • 20% discount at the Vet Group, Pets at Home, and the Groom Room
  • Access to exclusive high street discounts, cashback offers, and rewards
  • Regular social events and a strong emphasis on wellbeing
  • In-house career development opportunities
  • Contributory pension scheme and holiday allowance
