Therefore, the safety of our customers is an absolute priority, and in recognition of this commitment, we are looking to expand our leadership team with the addition of a Director of Building Safety.

We are a social housing provider in Salford, recruiting for a Director of People & Inclusion to set and evolve the strategic direction and execution of our People Strategy and to ensure our equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) commitments for both colleagues and customers are successfully met.

The Role

You will influence and lead the culture, capabilities, and leadership required to deliver our strategic ambitions, shape organisational effectiveness, workforce resilience, and employee experience. You will also provide expert advice on all people related matters, influencing decisions at the highest level.

As our inclusion lead, you will also promote and embed EDI, championing and challenging as appropriate, to ensure that services positively recognise difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead for the strategic direction of People Services, including generalist HR, Payroll, Talent Management, Recruitment and Policy Development.
  • Strategic lead for EDI, including equality assessment.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Effectively managing and mitigating risks
  • Developing a positive performance culture
  • Exercising effective financial controls
  • Effective engagement with colleagues, customers, communities, partners and stakeholders.

About You

We are looking for an inclusive leader who can make a positive impact, reflect our values who has:

  • Proven experience in leading at a senior level a People Services function
  • Strong knowledge of the employment and equalities legislation
  • Excellent organisational skills with a track record of prioritising activity to achieve deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently and empathetically with colleagues, customers, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail, with excellent analytical, literacy and numeracy skills.
