Potens is excited to launch a brand-new 3-bed residential children’s home in Longton, Preston and we’re looking for a Registered Manager to lead the service and make their mark from day one.
Supporting young people aged 12–18 with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs, this is a rare opportunity to shape a high-quality, Ofsted-registered home from the ground up.
The home will offer a 1:1 staffing ratio, be mixed gender, and include 1.5 days of monthly psychotherapy input to support both children and staff. Backed by an established and growing organisation, you'll have the support, tools, and freedom to build a truly therapeutic and nurturing environment.

Your Responsibilities:
- Launch and manage a new 3-bed residential home
- Lead a safe, trauma-informed, therapeutic environment
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards
- Oversee day-to-day operations: rotas, staffing, budgeting, care planning
- Supervise and develop a high-performing care team
- Build positive partnerships with families and external professionals
- Work with a Consultant Psychotherapist to support emotional wellbeing
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum 2 years in a management role within children’s residential care
- Ideally an experienced Registered Manager or a strong experience Deputy
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children’s) or working towards
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding
- Experience supporting children with LD, autism, or mental health needs
- Compassionate, resilient leadership style with excellent communication skills
