Regional Finance Manager

Oasis Community Learning

Date: 1 week ago
City: Birmingham
Contract type: Full time

If you care for budgets, strategies and developing financial plans as much as we care about our people…then we have a lot to talk about. And its not just ‘Finance’.

A Regional Finance Manager at Oasis is more like a mini COO. A centrally revered expert within a cluster of 7 Primary Academies (all wonderfully collegiate) in the Midlands. A role that coordinates, facilitates, guides and leads to ensure things run smoothly. Not just financially, but operationally and strategically. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to step up a level with the benefit of support from a great team of professionals and colleagues across the UK.

Oasis Community Learning is one of the largest educational trusts in the UK, and we are now looking for a new Regional Finance Manager – a hybrid role based from our Woodview Academy, with travel throughout the region. Using your skills and qualifications you’ll be supporting your cluster of primaries to change the lives of our children and help shape the future of our deserving communities.

So not only do you still get to play with numbers (because we know you still love that part), you get to enjoy the challenge of a diverse finance position, with a sense of purpose and reward. Much better than a stuffy Finance role in a faceless corporation we think.

What Oasis Offers

In return for your hard work we will offer you:

  1. A competitive salary, with clear progression routes
  2. A strong Continuous Professional Development programme with training opportunities
  3. A steady and sustainable work life balance that is often not achievable in the finance industry
  4. A supportive network and family of staff in a motivating working environment
  5. A competitive pension scheme with defined benefits, life cover and lower tax
  6. A generous annual leave allowance of 25 + 8 (Bank Holiday) days per year rising to 30 + 8 after 2 years of service and more!

The Role

We are looking for someone to provide strategic leadership as part of a Regional Leadership Team to our seven Midlands academies. You will ensure that all academies within your remit are able to deliver within a financially sustainable budget, whilst providing clear direction to our Principals and Regional Directors. We need someone confident and competent in managing budgets, maximising the use of grant funding and presenting clear and concise information to all levels of employees.

Our Ideal candidate will:

  1. Have a professional qualification in finance or accounting
  2. Have proven experience of leading on the preparation of financial plans for the future of the organisations and managing large scale budgets
  3. Be able to lead on the implementation of financial strategy, systems and policies
  4. Be driven and self-motivated with a commitment to improving the lives of our children and communities
