We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our highways team based at our Flax Bourton Bristol office supporting projects across the Southwest & South Wales region This role is commutable from Weston-Super-Mare, Bristol, Chepstow, Newport, Cardiff, Gloucester and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll ideally bring experience from similar sectors such as Highways, Road Infrastructure, Paving, Surfacing, or Civil Engineering.
Key responsibilities for the role of Quantity Surveyor will include:
The ideal candidate for the role of Quantity Surveyor will be educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, but we also welcome candidates with HND or those qualified by experience (QBE).

Key responsibilities for the role of Quantity Surveyor will include:
- Recording, monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contracts
- Preparing and submitting monthly applications for payment and final accounts.
- Preparation of monthly CVRs and forecasts (internal and client-facing)
- Securing payments from customers within the specified contract terms
- Subcontract procurement and management of subcontractor accounts
- Ensuring compliance with Tarmac and client processes to mitigate commercial risk
- Issuing early warning notices and managing compensation events
The ideal candidate for the role of Quantity Surveyor will be educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, but we also welcome candidates with HND or those qualified by experience (QBE).
Suitable candidates for the role of Quantity Surveyor will also have:
- A passion for safety
- Experience of using the NEC forms of contract
- Drive and ambition to succeed
- Good interpersonal skills as well as good oral and written communication skills
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Numeracy and analytical ability
- Strong negotiation skills
- Commercial awareness
- Willingness to travel between sites as required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Organisational ability
- Customer focus and the ability to build relationships.
- Good IT skills specifically on spreadsheets, databases and the ability to adapt to bespoke software packages
