Quantity Surveyor Opportunities

As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be at the heart of some of the UK’s most critical defence infrastructure projects. Whether you're just starting out or bringing years of experience, this is your chance to shape the future of national security while advancing your own career. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring commercial excellence across high-impact contracts, helping to deliver projects that protect our nation and support global peacekeeping efforts.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at Devonport Royal Dockyard. Hybrid working patterns are available.

What you’ll do:

  • Driving strategic cost planning by developing robust pre-tender estimates and evaluating design alternatives.
  • Delivering insightful financial reporting to support project and client decision-making.
  • Shaping project budgets in collaboration with subcontractors and internal teams.
  • Supporting high-stakes contract negotiations to secure favorable commercial outcomes.
  • Monitoring financial performance and recommending corrective actions to maintain profitability.


What you’ll need:

  • Strong knowledge of building and construction practices.
  • Experience with Ministry of Defence (MOD) contracts.
  • Proficiency in NEC3 or NEC4 contract frameworks.
  • Background in project management. Specialism in a relevant field such as Civils, Building, Mechanical or Electrical.
  • A drive to own and shape your career development journey.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
