This is a great role for someone who wants to support and manage a team to build the skills of and ensure compliance around Quality Auditing our reputable great products.
You will need to make sure that production are working to the latest legislation and are meeting all of the required quality and safety standards as well as complying with internal procedures and schedules.
Here at Walkers Deli, we manufacture world class quality meats and pates and ready to eat products which are safe and compliant with legal, 3rd party and customer requirements and you will help us to continue to deliver to our high standards.

Key Responsibilities
- You will be following up and resolving supplier and factory non-conformances, ensuring that non-compliances are investigated and root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented
- You will also need to manage raw material, product and environmental testing ensuring that samples and swabs are checked to an agreed schedule
- It will be key for you to assist the Quality Manager in the daily supervision and management of the Quality Assurance team. This includes carrying out absence review meetings, return to work interviews, managing performance, investigations and disciplinary meetings.
- You will need to ensure that regular checks and audits are completed(GMP, traceability, fabrication etc.) in order to monitor compliance with food safety requirements and prepare the necessary reports
- Additionally you will need to calibrate scales, temperature probes and other measuring devices on a frequent basis

- Experience in a Quality or Technical role within the food industry, working with raw meat would be an advantage but is not essential
- An understanding of working to BRC and retail customer standards and trained to an intermediate level in HACCP
- Experience in leading a team of people, with the ability to supervise and coach.
- Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- A relevant degree would be an advantage but not essential, we would be looking at subjects related to food science.
