World Leader in Blood Glucose Monitoring, Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the development and manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. The site has been instrumental in the research, development and manufacture of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System as well as exciting developments in the Libre family including FreeStyle Libre 2, FreeStyle Libre 3 and the Libre Sense system. The Role

As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to high volume manufacturing in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to join our Facilities team, part of the wider Operations Group. The role of the Facilities Project Engineer is to provide support and assistance with Engineering projects and other activities, whether this be managing facilities equipment validations categorised as critical to the business, or collaborating, communicating and developing good relationships with internal engineering functions, other ADC departments, external suppliers and external regulatory bodies. Continuous Improvement is an important part of our site’s culture and as such, you will be heavily involved in proposing and contributing to initiatives and projects that improve our operations. Day to day, you will be responsible for supporting our expanding site, providing assistance with equipment used to control the manufacturing and support area environments of the facility to close temperature and humidity specifications. Coordinating and project managing updates, improvements, and alterations, you will work closely with both internal teams and external contractors to ensure all activities are carried out within the safe working conditions required by the factory inspectorate and other statutory and regulatory bodies, and comply with all relevant local codes and practices and the Abbott engineering Standards. You will be able to own project tasks and deliverables, responsible and committed to ensure that agreed project deliverables meet the requirements. You will manage complex capital projects with suppliers and subcontractors, collaborating with different stakeholders across the business in an inclusive and dynamic work environment. You will be required to work un-supervised and complete all work tasks in a timely manner, working safely with specific procedures for tasks and documenting all worked carried out an electronic PC based maintenance reporting system. You may also be required to attend site outside normal workings hours as part of an emergency call out rota.

You will need to, minimally, have completed a HNC or HND in an engineering subject and ideally bring experience of Project Engineering or Project Management within a manufacturing environment. You may have engineering/technical experience, for example, understanding technical drawings, databases or use of CAD systems, and ideally a bias todwards Building Services Mechanical systems. , or bring experience in areas such as HVAC or CCTV/Access control (not essential). You may like problem solving, thinking creatively, designing tests and experiments for validation, and look to develop and learn in the role. You may also have experience of quality / regulatory systems within Medical Devices (or Pharmaceuticals), although this is not essential. You will be PC literate, and ideally offer experience of managing projects and adapting well to changing situations, either through industry experience or academic studies.

As we operate in a highly-regulated industry, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to follow procedures and create accurate documents and records of your work.
