Project Engineer - Temporary Works Specialist | Oldham | Full Time | Salary depending on experience
Are you an experienced Temporary Works Engineer looking for your next challenge? Our client is seeking a Project Engineer with strong expertise in temporary works, particularly in formwork and falsework design, to join their team and hit the ground running.
This is a key position within their engineering team. You’ll be responsible for managing and delivering high-quality temporary works designs and solutions for the construction sector, including infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will bring both deep technical knowledge and a proactive, can-do attitude.
Are you the right person for the job?
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE or IStructE) preferred
Extensive experience in temporary works design, especially formwork and falsework
Proven ability to carry out structural calculations and produce clear, detailed drawings
Strong understanding of construction methodology and safety regulations (e.g., BS5975)
Ability to work autonomously and make quick, confident decisions
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
What will your role look like?
Lead and manage temporary works design, particularly for formwork and falsework structures
Carry out and verify structural calculations with a strong level of independence
Produce and review detailed drawings and ensure compliance with relevant standards
Work collaboratively with site teams, designers and subcontractors to implement safe and efficient temporary works
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Maintain a high standard of documentation and quality control
