National Grid is hiring a Project Analyst on a permanent basis. The location for this role can be based from Warwick or London - Hybrid Working Policy
Job Purpose
The Project Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of projects within Security by facilitating project planning, management, and reporting. This position is responsible for monitoring project performance against established budgets and timelines, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing commercial contracts in collaboration with various teams. By providing insightful financial analysis and comprehensive project reporting, the Project Analyst enables informed decision-making and contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of project execution, thereby advancing the National Grid’s strategic goals.
What You'll Do
A competitive salary between £55,000– £65,000– dependent on capability
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.

What You'll Do
- Collaborate with project leads and Security teams to develop project plans, ensuring scope, timelines, and resource allocation are documented.
- Support the execution of project plans, adhering to timelines and budgets while coordinating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and issues.
- Maintain project documentation and support the creation of business cases and closure papers.
- Monitor budget spend, produce financial forecasts, and assist in forecasting future project expenditures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and collaborate with compliance teams to gather necessary data.
- Manage commercial contracts and facilitate communication between project teams and external partners.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and contribute to best practices and process improvements in project management.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- A relevant project management. Or project/programme management office qualification is desirable, e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, P3O, APM, PMI, CIPD and PEx LCS 1a or equivalent.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners, including colleagues and suppliers in different time zones.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to various stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- PMO and Project Management Processes including, but not exclusive to: Project Budgeting, Project and Portfolio Planning, Risk and Issue Management, Purchase Requisition, Governance Co-ordination, Management Reporting, Quality Management
