Job Purpose
To oversee the delivery of an effective policy and procedure framework for Warwickshire police, lead HMIC inspection planning and to support the Information Assurance function.

To oversee the delivery of an effective policy and procedure framework for Warwickshire police, lead HMIC inspection planning and to support the Information Assurance function.
Main Responsibilities
- To support all aspects of the strategic planning process, ensuring all relevant planning cycles are aligned and all key stakeholders are involved in the planning process.
- To co-ordinate the production of key strategic documents e.g. force management statements, annual governance statements, ensuring final approved documents are produced to required timescales and legislative compliance, and are suitable for publication.
- To lead policy development in force and to present updates to the JNCC. Design and maintain work processes to ensure the force policies and procedures are appropriately produced and published.
- To manage and develop the policy and procedure database and website, ensuring a record of live policies and procedures and review dates, advising and supporting policy owners of their requirements.
- To undertake scanning and dissemination of the external policy environment to identify any issues that may be relevant to Warwickshire police.
- Co-ordinate and respond to requests for information that fall within the remit of the policy environment e.g. requests from NPCC, Home Office.
- To take an active role in facilitating external inspection activity. Lead the co-ordination and planning of inspection activity including liaising with HMICFRS and senior officers/staff to ensure inspection activity is facilitated.
- To provide administrative and functional support to the Forces Benchmarking process.
- To undertake other duties commensurate with the nature, level of responsibility and grading of this post, as required.
Knowledge
Person Specification:
- A levels or equivalent,
- A good understanding of the policy environment within policing
- Knowledge of documentation and audit inspection processes.
- Desirable – understanding of risk management and information assurance frameworks
- Experience of Environmental analysis, researching strategic issues, and Strategy formulation.
- Experience in Policy Management.
- Desirable – experience in Risk Management
- Excellent planning skills and ability to work to deadlines.
- Excellent ability to summarise and articulate key points from large complex information and inform recommendations
- An eye for detail and ensuring consistency and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written, including the ability to produce reports.
- Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages.
