PLC Automation Engineer

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is partnering with a Telford based manufacturing business looking to hire a PLC software engineer to join their Engineering Development team, in a role focused towards delivering continuous improvement projects with their portfolio of bespoke in house built systems.

The role would suit an engineer with a minimum of HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering + PLC programming experience, excited by learning new techniques and technology. to help deliver End:to:End Involvement. Experiencing the full lifecycle from initial concept to final delivery. The key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Developing subject matter expertise in siemens/schneider PLCs.
• Analyse system requirements and develop control system models that align with project specifications and functional needs
• Collaborating with business stakeholders, providing technical leadership and programming expertise in a professional manner to drive improvements and new developments supporting lead development engineers in continuous innovation and improvement.
• Work in the role with a digital transformation mindset driving enhancements and improvements from project discovery to implementation.
  
  

Qualifications

To be considered as a suitable candidate for the PLC Software Engineer we are looking for as much as the below to be shown in a CV profile across Qualifications and Experience:

• HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• High level of mathematical and written skills
• Experience in PLC programming expertise and fault diagnosis experience : specifically Siemens and Schneider although others considered.
• Design for functional safety and SCADA experience would be beneficial.
