As the Planned Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment by performing regular PM tasks and other required maintenance activities, as outlined in the equipment maintenance plan.
You will support the manufacturing unit team with production maintenance issues as needed and mentor the unit's technical staff in troubleshooting methods and operational repair techniques.
This role requires a flexible approach to the working schedule to perform essential planned maintenance activities and optimize equipment availability. You will ensure compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, best practices, and all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures.

Main Responsibilities Include
- Maintain equipment by performing AM/PM activities, ensuring tasks are completed on time and according to plan.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to ensure maintenance tasks are thoroughly documented.
- Conduct regular equipment maintenance audits to identify potential continuous improvement opportunities that enhance the effectiveness of the PM program.
- Provide leadership for assigned TPM activities.
- Organize and prepare spare parts and other necessary materials to complete maintenance tasks during planned maintenance periods and for the equipment rebuild program.
- Attend plant shutdowns to perform maintenance activities.
- Support the manufacturing unit’s technical teams as needed to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Assist with the technical development and training of unit technical staff across all shifts.
- Perform other duties as required to support business needs.
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics) is a distinct advantage.
- 5 years of experience in a fast-paced automated manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while coaching and mentoring team members on technical elements.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex machinery and the ability to make quick decisions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of electrical and mechanical practices.
- Experience with control systems, robotics, or automation is a distinct advantage.
- Familiar with complex machines and their components, including tyrods, cylinders, and bearings.
- Able to troubleshoot, find faults, and perform repairs efficiently.
