The Advisory and Programme Delivery (APD) unit delivers management services in all the sectors that Mott MacDonald operate in the Built Environment, Defence, Energy, Water, Transportation and, Education, Health and Care.
The Unit delivers services to projects ranging in scale and complexity up to £20bn, through the technical disciplines of Programme Management, Project Management, Project Controls, Scheduling, Cost Management, Estimating, Infrastructure Finance, Management Consulting, Digital Consulting and Education, Health and Care Management.

The Role
Are you passionate about navigating the complexities of large-scale infrastructure projects and ensuring their success? Join our team at Mott Macdonald, where we are seeking an establishedRisk Managerto spearhead risk assessment and mitigation strategis. In this dynamic role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the landscape of some of the most exciting projects in the UK.
What You Will Contribute To The Team
Due to such a large pipeline of work in the Specialist portfolio, it is essential that applicants in this role have a proven track record working as a Risk Manager in an engineering environment. This can be working with a client, consultancy, or contractor in sectors such as highways, defence, energy, rail, aviation, water, environmental, oil, nuclear, and similar industries which see professionals working on construction projects.
Please be advised that offers for this role are conditional upon obtaining the appropriate level of Security Clearance.

The Role

Join our team at Mott Macdonald, where we are seeking an establishedRisk Managerto spearhead risk assessment and mitigation strategis. In this dynamic role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping the landscape of some of the most exciting projects in the UK.
What You Will Contribute To The Team
- Undertake assurance reviews of risk deliverables and methodologies to confirm conformance to best practice
- Experience informing the development of Business Cases, Investment Decisions and Appraisals, including assuring the quality of risk evidence
- Comfortable working as a consultant within a client environment, including embedding expertise into their teams
- Coach, develop and supervise project staff and sharing knowledge and expertise
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, teams and stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management experience.
Due to such a large pipeline of work in the Specialist portfolio, it is essential that applicants in this role have a proven track record working as a Risk Manager in an engineering environment. - Proven track record in risk management on large-scale consutrction projects in either Defence, Nuclear, Energy, Water, Transport, Enviornment, Buildings, Aviation, Oil or similar industries
- Ability to operate both autonomously and as part of a larger team
- Flexibility to travel and work in different sectors and clients
- Educated to degree level in risk, project management, engineering, mathematics or related disciplines
- Professional Membership with an applicable professional organisation
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good research and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication and organisation skills
- Essential Soft skills include, effective listening, persuasion, collaborative style, leadership, flexibility, self-motivation, creativity and insightfulness
- Computer literacy in Microsoft applications
