Main duties of the job
The Pharmacy Top Up team at the University Hospital Southampton are seeking a patient-focused,
friendly and enthusiastic individual to deliver training and support to our stock-drug ordering team.
Our team supports 168 ward visits each week covering over 100 different areas and is responsible for all aspects of stock drug ordering and organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity for some one with supervisory and training experience and a commitment to team work and service development. Clear communication, methodical organisation and a positive, common sense approach in the workplace are advantageous skills.
Preferably you would be able to work Mon- Fri (times negotiable) and 1 in 6 Sat or Sun on a rota basis plus 1 bank holiday a year.

Training and supervising the Pharmacy Top Up team in a ward environment on the Top Up process following procedures and in accordance with training schedules.
Visiting ward areas to trouble-shoot, resolve or escalate any queries or issues with service provision within the remit of the role.
Collating and recording data relating to Pharmacy Top Up.
Sharing and contributing ideas and opinions to support progression of the team and service.
Experience /skills Required

- 2 GCSE’s or equivalent grades A* - C or 4-9 in English and Maths (If qualifications gained outside the UK evidence of equivalent standards must be demonstrated at interview)
- NVQ 2 in Pharmacy or other Level 2 approved GPhC qualification for pharmacy support staff or equivalent experience
- Supervisory qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience of supervision
- Other healthcare qualifications
- GCSEs in science-based or other role specific relevant subjects
Essential criteria
- Use of information technology in the workplace or within education or voluntary sector
- Standard keyboard skills
- Previous pharmacy experience (hospital or community) or supervisory experience
- Previous experience in health or social care (if not pharmacy)
- Experience in stock control i.e., receiving, maintaining and / or issuing stock
- Clinical trials or research experience (Clinical trials only)
- Use of till and / or handling money in a work environment (RSH posts only)

- Communicate effectively with others in English both in speaking and writing
- Able to demonstrate ability to pass Numeracy test at interview
