Date: 3 weeks ago
City: Remote
Contract type: Contractor
Remote
Department: Finance
Location: Remote, UK
Compensation: circa £28,000
Working as part of the central Finance team with a close working relationship with the People team, the role works with our outsourced payroll providers and manages payroll and reward for over 400 employees across the UK and multiple international locations. You'd join a diverse and friendly team, all working towards our goal of providing exceptional service and solutions to the company.
The role is a fixed term contract for 15 months.
Location: We perform at our best when we feel trusted and are able to choose an approach to working that suits us best, which is why we are a remote-first company. However, we also believe in face to face collaboration, and our UK colleagues meet once a month for team time and quarterly for company get togethers in our Leeds office, so we ask that you be within a commutable distance that you are comfortable with in order to attend the office on those occasions.
Day to day we’ll trust you to:
- Accurate and timely processing of 1 UK and 7 overseas payrolls from start to finish, whilst ensuring all statutory and reporting requirements are met.
- Answering payroll queries from employees when needed.
- Work closely with our payroll providers, the People team and key leads at each of our regional offices, to gather all data for inputting on a monthly basis and make relevant checks to ensure all payments are calculated correctly and in line with our business rules, policies and managed payroll guidelines.
- Look after the administration and management of our pension and other benefit schemes. This would include working with third party providers to join and exit staff from relevant schemes, and answer any queries that staff may have regarding our benefit offerings.
- Experience of managing multiple payrolls, including payroll administration, coordination and reporting.
- An established understanding of payroll rules and processes, including statutory requirements and calculations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This role involves working with stakeholders across various departments and locations, so we're looking for someone who can thrive in this environment.
- Exceptional organization skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload with varying deadlines.
- Exceptional attention to detail, to ensure employees receive the correct amounts.
- Ability to work independently. This is a standalone payroll role and while you will join a supportive and welcoming team, we do need someone who is proactive and can effectively manage their own time.
- Maintain confidentiality and data security standards for all payroll-related information.
At Emerald, we value our people. Becoming a part of our team means you'll join a trusting and flexible environment and we've been flexified so you can trust that we're a truly flexible workplace. All we ask is that you attend the office once a month to come together with work colleagues. You'll also have numerous opportunities to progress your career, as well as access to professional development and the opportunity to learn new skills.
You'll receive a wide range of benefits, such as 38 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays, remote flexible working, a discretionary performance bonus, 6% pension contribution and various benefits aimed at supporting your wellbeing and work-life balance such as a working from home allowance. You can check out a full list of our benefits here.
Roles are advertised at a benchmarked market median rate. Offers will be made within a range of the median, depending on skills and experience.
Please note - Applicants must be authorized to work in the UK without restrictions or sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
