Payroll Analyst

Location: Avante Head Office, Faversham

Salary: Up to 35K depending on qualification and experience.

About The Role

Join Avante Care & Support a leading not-for-profit care provider as our Payroll Analyst ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across our organisation. You’ll oversee payroll cycles, support forecasting and budgeting, and help drive continuous improvement in our payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver monthly and 4-weekly payrolls accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Manage pension, life assurance, and benefits administration.
  • Provide cost analysis, reconciliations, and payroll data for budgets, forecasts, and audits.
  • Support internal audits and ensure follow-up on any findings.
  • Collaborate with the People and Organisational Development team (POD) to streamline payroll and POD processes.
  • Provide advice and support to colleagues on payroll queries.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ experience in payroll, ideally covering full end-to-end processes.
  • CIPP Level 5
  • Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS) and experience with Workforce or Staffology systems preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively under pressure.
  • Analytical mindset with confidence in interpreting and reporting on financial data.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car preferred.
