Paralegal

VWV

Date: 4 hours ago
City: Watford
Contract type: Contractor
Our Residential Conveyancing team are on hand to guide clients through the conveyancing process from start to finish for a wide variety of properties, including freehold, leasehold, new build, listed, flats and houses. Their ability to identify and advise on any pitfalls, teamed with their understanding of the impact moving home can have on families, ensure they deliver an excellent all round client experience.

Christina Le Riche and Fiona Baker are both looking to recruit Paralegals into their teams, one Paralegal to start around mid January to be based in our London office with Christina and one Paralegal to start as soon as possible with Fiona working from our Watford office.

Is This the Role for You?This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your legal knowledge by assisting with a vast array of residential conveyancing transactions. Working alongside a qualified lawyer, you'll support fee earners across the team with a range of tasks from file opening and managing search, Land Registry and HMRC applications, to keeping in touch with estate agents, mortgage lenders and clients throughout each transaction. Your role will be of paramount importance as you progress and follow up on time critical exchanges and/or completions.

VWV places a huge emphasis on the progression and development of its employees, and you'll be fully supported to settle into the role whilst also being given the opportunity over time to become more autonomous and challenge yourself with additional responsibilities to further your career development.

Who We're Looking For.

You might already be working as a residential conveyancing paralegal with around six months to a year's experience and a clear commitment to progressing your career as either a conveyancer or through CILEx qualification. Equally, you could be a graduate — law or otherwise — looking to gain practical experience ahead of SQE qualification or a future training contract. We've a strong track record of supporting and developing our paralegals, and we actively prioritise internal progression with members of the team have successfully secured training contracts with us.

You'll thrive in this role if you're comfortable managing deadlines, keeping transactions running smoothly and communicating clearly with clients, colleagues and third parties. Strong written and verbal communication skills are key, as is the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure.

Whilst previous paralegal or professional services experience can be helpful, it's not essential as what matters most to us is your attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to learning. We value people who are proactive, well organised and eager to take ownership of their work.

Where Will I Be Working?

VWV supports hybrid working and equips all paralegals for home working. However, for our early talent, we believe it's crucial for development to gain as much exposure to office life as possible, so these roles are predominantly office-based. That said, we're happy to discuss individual circumstances and hybrid arrangements as part of the assessment process.

Why Choose Us?

There are so many reasons to stop and explore VWV further. We're known for our friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration are key. There's no pigeon-holing or glass ceilings here, just a professional yet relaxed culture where you can finally be yourself.

At VWV, we're committed to your growth with our bespoke Learning Academy, offering structured career-level programs across core business areas to prepare you for promotion opportunities and career advancement - join us to unlock your full potential.

We're striving to be an inclusive employer of choice, to create a workplace environment that promotes and values diversity, where everyone, regardless of background, can reach their full potential. During the assessment process we've supported a range of reasonable adjustments in the past though we continue to learn and evolve to create the best possible candidate experience for everyone. If you'd like to discuss what's possible — even if you're not sure what you might need — please reach out to our recruiter, who'll be happy to talk through options and share what's worked well for others.

How To Apply.

All you need to do is click on the "Apply Now" button to upload your CV and cover letter, explaining why you think you'll enjoy working in residential conveyancing. Within your cover please also be clear on which location you're applying for as candidates will only be considered for one location.

Research shows that people from diverse backgrounds sometimes hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. At VWV, we believe potential and attitude are just as important as experience so if you're enthusiastic about this role, we'd love to hear from you.

Recruitment Agencies.

Please note that VWV manages all paralegal recruitment directly and does not engage recruitment agencies for these roles. Any unsolicited CVs sent to VWV Partners, or our Talent Acquisition Team will be treated as gifts, with no fees payable.
