About The Role

As an M&S Opticians Optometrist, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer care. As a registered Optometrist with the General Optical Council (GOC) and National Performers List, you will conduct thorough eye examinations using the latest equipment, including OCT technology, and provide expert advice on visual health. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing eye conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts, prescribing and fitting eyewear, and identifying general health concerns like diabetes. Beyond clinical expertise, you will contribute to the training of the team, enhancing their confidence and knowledge while ensuring a seamless customer journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual health
  • Diagnose and manage eye diseases and identify general health conditions
  • Provide expert advice on visual problems and recommend the appropriate eyewear solutions
  • Be commercially aware and provide recommendations based on our customers’ needs and lifestyle
  • Support the team’s development through ongoing supervision and training
  • Deliver outstanding customer care, ensuring a comfortable and professional experience
  • Assist the store manager in shaping and growing the business
  • Maintain compliance with professional and regulatory standards

About You

You are a dedicated and highly skilled Optometrist with a strong clinical background and a commitment to delivering excellent customer care. With outstanding interpersonal skills, you can put anxious patients at ease while confidently communicating complex information. Organised and proactive, you are keen to engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and contribute to the growth of the business.
