About The Role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will take centre stage in the design and development of material handling systems for modernisation and upgrade projects. With a strong focus on conveying equipment, you will also contribute to the engineering of Palletizers, Lifts, and Cranes, ensuring high-performance solutions for our longstanding customers. Tasks And Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Transform project layouts and specifications into precise design solutions.
- Define system integration drawings, unit cycle times, and throughput requirements.
- Develop detailed mechanical drawings and parts lists for conveyor systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and subcontractors to drive project success.
- Support system risk assessments, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Liaise with purchasing, operations, and documentation teams to facilitate seamless execution.
- Innovate new designs and product enhancements to meet market needs.
- You hold an HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (a degree is a plus!).
- You have design experience in materials handling, with expertise in conveying systems.
- You are proficient in CAD tools, preferably AutoCAD.
- You enjoy problem-solving, teamwork, and tackling complex engineering challenges.
- You are willing to travel to customer sites, ensuring seamless integration and execution.
