We are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Design Manager to work with us at Oxford Brookes University. This position is hybrid and will involve working on site 4 days a week.

Location: Oxford Brookes University

Rate of pay: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum + amazing benefits

Working pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Job Overview: You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day marketing and communication strategies for the catering services across the university campus. This role involves direct coordination between operational teams, clients, and customers to ensure cohesive and impactful marketing campaigns. The manager will lead efforts in managing social media, planning and executing marketing activations, and producing bespoke design work to enhance the catering experience and drive engagement.

This position requires a creative, hands-on individual with strong project management skills, who can work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The role is primarily site-based but offers flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and implement day-to-day marketing strategies that align with the university’s catering goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Marketing to ensure marketing initiatives are consistent with broader university groups goals.

Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as the key communication link between catering operations teams, clients, and customers to ensure all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Maintain clear, consistent communication regarding promotional events, new product launches, seasonal menus, and other relevant updates.
  • Social Media & Digital Marketing:
  • Manage all social media accounts related to university catering, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
  • Create engaging, on-brand content (posts, stories, videos) that drives engagement and promotes catering services.
  • Marketing Activations:
  • Plan and execute marketing activations, events, and campaigns to promote catering offerings and increase customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners for promotional opportunities, ensuring events are well-organized and aligned with marketing goals.
  • Design & Creative Work:
  • Design and produce bespoke marketing materials (both digital and print) to support campaigns, special events, and internal communications.
  • Ensure all designs meet university brand guidelines and have a consistent visual identity across channels.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
  • Track the success of marketing campaigns and initiatives, producing regular performance reports.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • - Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • - Expertise in social media management, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
  • - Proficient in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) for producing high-quality digital and print assets.
  • - Creative thinker with the ability to develop fresh and engaging marketing ideas.
  • - Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed marketing decisions.
  • - Experience in event planning and marketing activations.
  • - Knowledge of the foodservice or hospitality industry is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience

  • - Ideally : Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • - 3+ years of experience in marketing and design, preferably in the hospitality, foodservice, or related sectors.
  • - Experience managing digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, and content creation.
  • - Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering successful marketing campaigns.
  • - Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
