Role Overview

A leading pharmaceutical company based in the Cambridgeshire area is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join its innovative team. As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and developing the scientific computing infrastructure to support the company's cutting-edge research activities.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

Your duties as the Linux Systems Administrator will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • Maintenance and development of Linux infrastructure, both on-premises and in the cloud
  • Installation, upgrade, and troubleshooting of scientific computing hardware and software
  • Backup and archiving of scientific data
  • Maintenance of Oracle databases

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Linux Systems Administrator we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • Relevant degree in a related field
  • Proven industry experience in building, deploying, and maintaining Linux servers (Red Hat/Rocky Linux)
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with batch queuing systems (Slurm) and cloud computing, particularly AWS
