We are seeking a Legal and Business Affairs Executive to support the legal function of a major UK-based independent television production company, renowned for delivering high-profile, non-scripted content enjoyed across the UK and beyond.

Working as part of a collaborative Legal and Commercial team, you will provide essential legal and business affairs support across the full life cycle of programming — from development through to post-production and commercial exploitation.

This part-time role (3 days/week) is ideal for a qualified solicitor with a strong foundation in media law and a desire to work in a fast-paced, creative industry environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting and negotiating a range of agreements including talent, contributor, production, broadcaster, and distribution contracts
  • Supporting digital and ancillary commercial licensing including publishing, tech and live events
  • Managing IP protection, rights clearance, and trademark portfolio oversight
  • Advising on content compliance, contributor care, and editorial policy
  • Assisting with dispute resolution and working with external counsel as required
  • Contributing to internal policy development on data protection and compliance matters

Candidate Profile:
  • 2+ years’ PQE, preferably with in-house or media experience
  • Excellent drafting and contract negotiation skills
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and strong attention to detail
  • Effective multitasker in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
