GSL Education are seeking an experienced and dedicated Learning Support Mentor to join our school in Dorchester!

The role of a Learning Support Mentor will provide personalised support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them navigate their learning journey. Your ability to engage with students one-on-one or in small groups will play a key role in their development and success.

Location: DorchesterSalary: £12.82 per hour

Start Date: Immediate or January 2025

Essential Skills and Qualities that we are looking from you:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN), adjusting your methods to fit their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create effective learning strategies that motivate and engage students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, keeping open communication with educators to ensure learning goals are met.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to express themselves.
  • Assist students in building social skills and developing confidence in their abilities.
  • Support classroom management to maintain a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Proven experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is essential.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively connect with students and collaborate with staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in various situations.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting young learners.
  • Good organisational skills to manage your time effectively and track student progress.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new strategies for student support.

What We’re Looking For: To thrive in these roles, you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last two years.
  • Possess a DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
