Learning Host (Part Time, Fixed Term)

Kettle's Yard is recruiting Learning Hosts to support the delivery of our innovative Learning and Community programme. Learning Hosts are friendly, engaging with an interest in creative learning. Learning Hosts welcome our school, college and community groups to the house and gallery as well as participants for events and workshops. They ensure our Learning and Community activities are safe, engaging, accessible and inspiring.
Learning Hosts will work both at our Castle Street location and offsite in community settings. No prior knowledge of Kettle's Yard, its history or collection is necessary. Successful candidates will be given training and will also be expected to learn on the job through research and active engagement with the collection and exhibitions. The Learning Hosts will report to the Community Manager and work as part of the Learning & Community team. They will liaise closely with the Learning and Engagement Coordinator also.
The role is advertised on a zero-hour basis due to the irregularity of visits, projects and sessions. Hours of work will be agreed and scheduled in advance and potential work can be offered across all days of the week, including weekend working and occasional evenings. At this time, we are particularly looking for candidates who are available on our popular school visit days of Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Pay Supplement: In addition to the base salary stated with the role, the successful candidate for this post will receive an additional 2.5% supplement to their pay. This supplement will be paid until the conclusion of the Cambridge Pay Review Project.

Kettle's Yard is the University of Cambridge's modern and contemporary art gallery. It was founded in 1957 by Jim and Helen Ede. It consists of a beautiful house with a remarkable collection of modern art and a gallery that presents a diverse programme of modern and contemporary art exhibitions. It has an international reputation for its programmes which includes concerts of new and classical music and an extensive and diverse programme of learning and community activities.
Kettle's Yard's mission is to contribute to society by inspiring and engaging audiences through art, learning and research of the highest quality.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 1 years in the first instance.
