Learning and Development Partner

Dunelm

Date: 1 day ago
City: Syston
Contract type: Full time

This role is all about helping our Retail and Supply Chain colleagues grow, thrive, and feel confident in their careers — now and in the future.

Hybrid working available - Dunelm Support Site in Leicester

You’ll lead the way in shaping and delivering our Learning & Development strategy across these areas, making sure we’re building the right skills, knowledge, and behaviours to support our growth.

It’s a role with real impact — you’ll work closely with leaders across Retail and Supply Chain to make sure our L&D plans are not just inspiring, but also aligned with our big-picture goals and People strategy.

At the heart of it, it’s about creating opportunities for our colleagues to learn, stretch, and succeed — and making sure we’re ready for whatever comes next.

At Dunelm, people really are at the heart of everything we do — and our People Team plays a big part in making that happen.

We’re here to help the business thrive by partnering closely with our leaders and shaping a colleague experience that feels just right — one that reflects our values and supports our big ambitions.

We’re proud to be a team full of energy and ideas, working side by side with our leaders to bring out the best in their teams — teams that are diverse, capable, and ready to take on big goals.

From data lovers to creative thinkers, our People Team is a brilliant mix of minds. Together, we design and deliver people initiatives that help our colleagues feel like they belong, grow in their roles, and do their best work.

There’s always something exciting on the go — whether it’s a new project to shape the colleague experience or a fresh idea to boost business performance. We’re a collaborative bunch, always looking for ways to make a bigger impact — today, tomorrow, and beyond.

What you'll be doing

  • Help shape the future of Learning & Development for our Retail and Supply Chain teams, using data and insights to focus on what really matters.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our Retail and Supply Chain leaders to spot skills gaps and use that knowledge to shape a learning offer that hits the mark.
  • Design, deliver and fine-tune blended learning experiences — from hands-on workshops and e-learning to on-the-job training and leadership development.
  • Play a key role in supporting big business change programmes, making sure our people are ready and confident to take them on.
  • Support line managers with regular training needs analysis (TNA) to uncover where we can grow — whether it’s technical know-how, behaviours, or leadership skills.
  • Run engaging training sessions and workshops — in person or virtually — that leave people feeling inspired and equipped.
  • Create learning that helps our colleagues do great work, feel proud to be here, and support our long-term success.
  • Keep an eye on what’s working (and what’s not) by tracking learning impact, ROI, and spotting opportunities to improve.
  • Be a champion for continuous learning — helping us build a culture where curiosity and growth are part of everyday life.
  • Team up with People Business Partners and fellow L&D pros to make sure our learning efforts are joined up across the business.
  • Support the wider L&D strategy and pitch in where needed — we’re all in this together.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver brilliant learning experiences — and stay curious about what’s new in the world of L&D.
  • Lead improvement projects that help colleagues grow their careers and see a future with us.
  • Support our talent planning forums, making sure we’re ready for the future with strong succession plans and clear development pathways.
  • Keep our Retail and Supply Chain career tools fresh and useful — helping colleagues grow their skills and confidence.
  • Create a warm, welcoming onboarding experience that helps new colleagues feel at home, understand our ways of working, and get off to a flying start.
  • Make sure our Retail and Supply Chain Academy gives colleagues the tools, knowledge and confidence they need — today and tomorrow.

What we'll look for in you

  • A solid understanding of how Retail and Supply Chain tick — including the technical roles that keep everything moving and a good grasp of what’s happening in the industry.
  • A track record of creating and rolling out fresh, forward-thinking L&D programmes that really connect with business goals.
  • Experience leading the people side of big change programmes — helping teams feel supported and ready for what’s next.
  • A natural connector — someone who’s confident facilitating sessions, delivering programmes, and building great relationships along the way.
  • A head for data — you know how to measure what’s working, what’s not, and how to show the real impact of learning.
  • Great communication and people skills — you’re collaborative, approachable, and know how to bring others with you.
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects without dropping the ball — even when things get busy.
  • And above all, a genuine passion for helping people grow.
