Purpose of the role
As the proactive leader of the internal concrete sales team within the customer service centre, The Sales manager will oversee the development and management of a dynamic group of 6 to 10 direct reports, ensuring high performance and team cohesion.
The Sales manager will drive sales growth through targeted, proactive efforts, continually seeking opportunities to expand our customer base across the nation. By building strong relationships and increasing the number of clients trading with HM Concrete, and contribute significantly to the national footprint of our concrete business. A core part of therole involves providing seamless support and connection to all stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on delivering an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint.

Key Accountabilities
- To generate sales for HM through the development of account customers via the Internal Sales Agents (ISA) teams
- Achieve service levels to meet customer expectations, ensure our focus is on quote turn around, and accuracy.
- Ensure that internal sales team are trained and competent to carry out role.
- Ensure processes in place to follow up and convert customer enquiries.
- Set and review sales objectives and goals for each member of the teams within the regions
- Monitor staff performance levels to ensure effective use of resource, maintaining high productivity levels
- To maintain excellent working relations with customers, regional management, and develop the link between the External Sales managers and the internal teams
- Manage pricing strategies and guidelines in line with PEAK software
- Ensure admin of ISAs such as quote set up, mix additions, order acknowledgement, T&Cs etc. is done accurately embracing the “Right first-time approach”
- Produce sales reports and forecasts for both internal and external teams.
- Acquire and apply market, product and customer knowledge to the day-to-day operation of the Customer Service Centre (CSC)
- Produce and maintain effective sales chasing / follow ups through the team including, LB55 and Pipeline management, Won/Lost.
- Implement and develop use of CRM on a long-term basis
- Introduce day-to-day diary management for ISA teams including but not limited to, quote follow ups, dormant accounts, Barbour ABI, Prospecting, Multi product Customers etc.
- Coach and develop team to increase sales of Value added products (VAPs)
- Actively work with all teams to reduce and eliminate customer queries and improve customer experience.
- Link with the area teams and relevant external departments to ensure high level of customer service is maintained
- Work with Commercial Excellence Manager to ensure our processes and pricing strategies are up to date and driving performance within the CSC
