Reeson Education is recruiting a passionate and resilient Lead Teacher to take on a key leadership role within a progressive specialist provision based in the Salford area. This full-time Lead Teacher position offers an exceptional opportunity to shape Post 16 education for pupils with SEMH needs in a flexible and highly supportive environment.

The school is a dynamic, pupil-focused setting dedicated to supporting some of Salford's most vulnerable and under-engaged young people. As Lead Teacher, you'll work from a community-based site, delivering a bespoke curriculum to students who are not able to access mainstream Post 16 education. You'll also be part of the senior leadership team, driving positive outcomes for both students and staff.

Lead Teacher Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver a tailored Post 16 curriculum, including Foundation English and Maths, and Occupational Studies.
  • Provide high-quality education to pupils with significant SEMH needs in small-group and individual settings.
  • Monitor and support the work of a small team of Teaching Assistants, ensuring effective delivery and team wellbeing.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and engagement through trauma-informed practice and positive relationships.
  • Work alongside senior leaders to continuously improve outcomes and provision for Post 16 learners.

Lead Teacher Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) - essential for the Lead Teacher role.
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience, preferably in a SEN or SEMH setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Foundation English & Maths; willingness to engage with Occupational Studies curriculum.
  • Excellent behaviour management and an understanding of trauma-informed practice, attachment theory, and behaviour psychology.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to inspire both pupils and colleagues.
  • Ability to dynamically risk assess situations and ensure safe practice at all times.
  • A clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance (essential for the Lead Teacher role).

Why join this school as a Lead Teacher?

  • Join a nurturing and forward-thinking specialist provision.
  • Be part of SLT and help drive Post 16 provision development.
  • Secure a Lead Teacher role that is temp-to-perm - with a pathway to a permanent contract.
  • MPS pay with SEN Allowance and TLR2, depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to start as soon as possible or from September - flexibility based on your availability.
  • Make a lasting difference to some of the most under-served young people in Salford.

If you're a qualified and committed educator ready to step up as a Lead Teacher, we want to hear from you. This is more than a job - it's a mission. Apply now and help build a future that truly includes every learner.
