What does the day of a Laundry Assistant look like?

Responsibilities

Our Laundry Assistants are responsible for ensuring that all items of residents’ personal clothing and linen is laundered and cleaned to the highest standards:

  • Ensure items are appropriately separated and laundered according to washing/drying instructions
  • Launder all linen, including bedding, table cloths, towels and soft furnishings as required
  • Ensure personal items are collected and returned within a reasonable timescale to their owner
  • Maintain the laundry area in a tidy and safe condition and notify the Housekeeper of any safety hazards or defective equipment
  • Perform general cleaning duties as required
  • Develop a positive relationship with all residents, staff and visitors by becoming an important part of the team
