Job Description

Baxterstorey is seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our team in Huntingdon, United Kingdom. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, organised, and smooth-running kitchen environment.

• Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain high standards of hygiene
• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring all kitchenware is properly cleaned and stored
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff
• Organise and store incoming deliveries in appropriate storage areas
• Dispose of waste in accordance with health and safety regulations
• Support the kitchen team by performing various tasks to ensure efficient service delivery
• Maintain a tidy and well-organised kitchen, including floors, walls, and storage areas
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards as per company policies and legal requirements
  
  

Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when required
• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks
• Team-oriented mindset with a supportive attitude towards colleagues
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe use of cleaning chemicals
• Basic understanding of food hygiene practices
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential
• Food hygiene certificate is desirable
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends
