Junior SOC Analyst

Have you a love of SOC but haven't been able to find a junior role? It is an area that can be hard to break into BUT, here we have that exact opportunity!

You will play a meaningful role in ensuring the security, integrity, and compliance of our organization's information systems and technology infrastructure and those of our customers. Support the Cyber Security team with activities such as identifying, assessing, and mitigating cyber risks, implementing effective governance practices, and maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards..

This is a superb opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of cybersecurity while contributing to the overall risk management strategy of the organisation.

This role is based on site in Hemel Hempstead and is shift work. 2 days 6am to 6PM, 2 nights 6PM to 6AM. 4 days off.

Please note that you do need to be eligible for DV Clearance.

What you'll be doing:

• Support security activities for client engagements, developing a framework of security controls that align with overall objectives and contractual obligations.
• Support the Cyber Security team in identifying and understanding customer requirements.
• Support other Cyber Security team members through recording and monitoring of activities and findings as they identify potential cyber risks, assess their impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and industry standard methodologies, and provide recommendations for improvements.
  
  

What you’ll bring:

• Ability to work under routine supervision and use minor discretion in resolving problems or enquiries.
• Monitor work within short time frames and absorb technical information when it is presented systematically.
  
  

It would be great if you had:

• Knowledge and ability to explain the basic principles of Information Security Governance and how it applies within an organisation
• Experience of Data Protection, Audit and/or Risk Management
