About The Opportunity
Jacobs Transportation has an enviable reputation in Highways, Rail and Aviation. Our internationally respected Aviation team are active at all major UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, with a growing portfolio of overseas commissions. Our experts lead and support a wide range of airport projects globally, working for major clients to create better, efficient, and more sustainable aviation solutions.
We are seeking Junior Airport Planners to join our growing Aviation Business, working on a number of high-profile airport development projects. You may focus on capacity-demand assessments and analytics, or terminal developments, or airside planning. You will be part of a friendly, dynamic, divers and international team where we work in a flexible manner, but all share the passion for aircraft and airports. The position is ideally based in Winnersh (Reading), Manchester or London.
Responsibilities
You will work with other airport planning experts and specialists in the team. You be asked to provide direction to graduate airport planners in the team and to support the team to deliver tasks and projects.
As an individual we would look to you to show delivery performance, good communication skills combined with being a team player. You will have a flair for creative problem solving, will be knowledgeable of current aviation industry initiatives, will proactively drive innovation and be passionate about airport development. You will help to foster a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement, demonstrating adaptability and commitment to supporting others across the team in delivering a high-quality service.

Here's what you'll need
You will have demonstrable experience in at least one of the following areas
- Facility Planning
- Capacity/ Demand Assessments
- Airport Simulation
- Terminal Planning and Design
- Airside Planning and Design
- Airport Operations (terminal or airside)
- Airport Master Planning.
- 3-5 years’ experience in international aviation/airport projects
- Knowledge of EASA, ICAO and IATA standards
- Analytical tools (e.g. Power BI, Domo)
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office software capability (especially Excel)
- Post graduate qualification in Airport Planning
- OAG database experience
- Bid preparation
- Experience in traffic forecasting and analysis
- Practical application of AutoCAD software
- Practical application of specialist Airport Planning Software (e.g. CAST, AirTOP, AviPlan, Vissim)
- Understanding of airport operations
- Aviation sustainability.
